Over at the “X-Factor,” three on-camera personalities – Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Steve Jones – were given their walking papers this week, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Seems lead judge Simon Cowell decided it was time for a shake up before the second season returns this fall. Apparently the three didn’t have what Cowell needed.

No story could be more difficult to read than the recent sex abuse scandal that toppled the empire and career of famed Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. How a man with such apparent authority and influence could do so little when it was needed most is beyond many people’s understanding.
The result is that instead of retiring at the end of the season as he had originally planned, JoePa (as he is affectionately called) was fired immediately by the college board of trustees. “In our view, we thought change now was necessary,” board vice chairman, John Surma said.
